Disability Doula is a place where birthworkers, healthcare practitioners, and disabled pregnant people/parents with disabilities can find information, resources, learn on their own, and sign up for other offerings.

Our Mission

To equip newly disabled individuals and parents with disabilities with the necessary tools, resources, and support to navigate their new realities confidently. We strive to close the information and support gaps that many face by providing specialized doula services tailored to the unique needs of the disabled community.

Our Vision

A world where every person with a disability receives the support and advocacy they need during major life transitions, particularly around the birth of a child. We envision a community where disability doulas are integral to healthcare and family support systems, ensuring no one is left without help during critical times.

What We Do

Disability Doubla offers a range of services designed to support birthing parents with disabilities:

  • Helping expectant parents prepare for childbirth with tailored plans that accommodate their specific needs and disabilities.

  • Providing critical support after the birth, from handling new parenting duties to managing health care needs, ensuring parents are not overwhelmed.

  • Acting as advocates for our clients in medical settings to ensure their voices are heard and their rights are respected, helping them navigate complex healthcare and family regulation systems.

  • Educating doulas on the nuances of working with individuals with disabilities and providing resources to understand and support the I/DD community better
